▷ First Impressions ▶ ICY BASTARD: Chances are it is at all times several degrees colder around him. He leaks ice magic, just in general, but especially when stressed. He is, quite literally, a leaky bucket. ▶ VISUAL: -> this is long, click here Matches his canon counterpart in height and build. 6’1/162cm dude who is a caster before he’s a physical fighter, and who’s primary weapon is a spear. All legs, dorito shoulder to hip ratio. Light brown hair that falls to about mid-back. Unnaturally red eyes (thanks, it’s the being a blade). Wears wireframe glasses. Does he actually need them to see? Good question! Also yes they do the anime thing, what is the point if they don’t. Unlike his canon counterpart, he’s more prone to show some skin, and though he prefers long sleeves and pants he rarely wears gloves anymore. If you can see his skin, it’s covered in ether lines—red glowing lines of light etched into him like elaborate tattoos, following a coherent pattern of lines and hexagonal shapes, moving outwards from the diamond crystal (also red, also glowing) that sits in his collarbone, just below the neck. He glows less than your average blade would, but he still gives off some light. Think glowstick but it's dying; unnoticeable in direct light, but enough to notice in darkness, even if not necessarily enough to see by. Granted since he covers all but his hands it probably still isn't that noticeable unless he's not wearing a shirt for some reason, which probably won't happen. He also often has his hair up in a ponytail or a braid, which means at a glance he might not even parse as his canon counterpart to people familiar with a canon Jade. Even if it’s not completely up, it might be partially braided. ▶ AURAL: just links to a voice clip compilation ▶ DEMEANOUR: Always holds himself casually, hands often in his pockets. Think the knifecat meme but like bolded. That’s him, that’s Jade.

▷ IC Permissions ▶ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Go for it but note in advance Jade responds to physical affection like he’s a stone, which is to say, basically not at all. He won’t tell you not to, and understands why people do it, but it just does not parse as necessary to how he functions. ▶ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Talk to me first, but I’m down! Note that he repays all violence in kind unless he is given a good reason not to. (i.e., someone having an obvious mental breakdown and the violence is a side effect,,) ▶ KILLING THIS CHARACTER: Fine by me! In fact, I encourage it. He's gonna have very specific character development that hinges on it happening lol. ▶ RELATIONSHIPS: Jade is aro-spec ace and already has two partners back home (on vastly different scales of the “romantic” spectrum), so he is simultaneously not interested and technically taken. If you want to befriend him, please try, but also good luck. He doesn’t care a lot what other people think of him and can be a bit of a bastard. We’ll see how it goes. Hopefully it'll go better as he adjusts. ▶ PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: Scans as fairly normal for a humanlike being of his presumed age at a glance, further inspection might reveal that he’s technically a magical computer that functions nearly 1:1 to organic lifeforms. The difference is so subtle that you would likely need a degree in neuroscience to notice, though. When in resonance, has an empathetic link to his blade which influences his own thoughts and emotions. Also, generally, feels things very loudly. He might be a closed book looking at his face but as soon as you are in empathetic link with him there is just. No mental blocks. No stifling of the emotion bleed. It’s on full blast. Yes, this is one of the ways he’s coping with his trauma. ▶ MAGICAL INFORMATION: Literally leaking ice magic just all over the goddamn place. His power levels are not quite off the charts but are comfortably at the top. Like, accidentally caused a history-making blizzard once, at the top. ▶ MEDICAL INFORMATION: That’s not human, that’s a being comprised almost entirely of magic centered around a crystal processor! …except for the EXTREMELY human heart?? Dude, the fuck. ▶ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Memory loss, especially his own; indication his memories might have been altered or wiped in any fashion is just as bad. Citan. Treating people as tools or any implication such is happening. Being talked down to or having his opinions dismissed as irrelevant, especially coming from an authority-leaning figure. Being recognized by someone he has never met before and being expected to recognize them in return. Burning buildings and/or excessive smoke from something burning. Not necessarily a trigger, but will respond extremely poorly to anyone being rude about/threatening Mythra; in her absence, that will probably also extend to Asch, and anyone else he gets attached to. FOR YOUR CHARACTERS: Discussions of past memory wiping and abusive relationships. Casual references to death and murder. Cannibalism but like obliquely; no actual cannibalism was involved but the colloquial terms are still "flesh eater" and "ate his driver's heart", which though he did not ACTUALLY do (he got the heart via surgery), he will joke about having done.

(And if you want to drop a thread I've been slow on, just let me know, I don't mind!) ▶ THREADHOPPING: Ok! just please ask first. ▶ FOURTHWALLING: I'm not opposed; can't say Jade will respond well due to [gestures at his triggers]. ▶ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Graphic depictions of legit physical abuse. I’m okay with interacting with it I just hate being blindsided. Characters referencing it having happened to them it is fine. Physical violence is fine. Would like to avoid discussing IRL christianity. (Mostly ooc tho, if it comes up ic that’s probably fine.) ▶ PERMISSIONS FOR YOU TO MY POOR ABYSS CASTMATES: Jade has Trauma due to having his memories wiped several times, and "people interacting with him and expecting him to know/be familiar with them when he has no idea who they are" is a massive trigger, near-guaranteed to give him a panic attack upon first encounter. Later encounters might be uncomfortable but he'll have clocked the "x person knows me/another version of me because y" and won't freak out. All this to say if you want to opt-out of first encounter and skip straight to the point where he's already expecting your character to know him and therefore won't freak out, that's totally understandable, let me know. (Asch, Luke, Sync, and Ion are exempt from this; he knows they exist and why they might know him. While there is bound to be confusion about alternate universes etc., it likely won't be panic-attack inducing.) ETHER SENSE (EVERYONE): Jade can tell if someone is aligned to an element, because blades run on a JRPG element system.
